2000 Chateau Pavie, Saint-Emilion Grand Cru, France

2000 Chateau Pavie, Saint-Emilion Grand Cru, France

The wine has an inky, opaque, plum/purple color and a stunningly rich nose of mulberries, bramble berries, blackberries, licorice and incense as well as touches of toast and graphite. Fabulously concentrated and full-bodied, with a multidimensional mouthfeel.

Value: $2,110.00

1990 Chateau Montrose, Saint-Estephe, France

1990 Chateau Montrose, Saint-Estephe, France

This wine has an incredibly complex nose of spring flowers, blackberry and cassis liqueur, scorched earth and barbecue spice. It is full-bodied, majestic and opulent, with low acidity and fabulous fruit. It is close to full maturity. The wine should continue to drink well for at least another 30 or more years, but it is showing secondary nuances in the perfume. The wine is absolutely magnificent, broad, savory and mouth-filling. This is one of the all-time modern legends from Bordeaux as well as Chateau Montrose.

$2,090.00

1990 Chateau Angelus, Saint-Emilion Grand Cru, France

1990 Chateau Angelus, Saint-Emilion Grand Cru, France

Beautiful, sweet plum, blackberry and blueberry fruit soar from the glass of this opaque, purple wine that still hasn’t lost much in color. Deep, opulent, voluptuously textured, full-bodied and multidimensional, this is a stunner.

Value: $1,990.00

1990 M. Chapoutier Ermitage Le Pavillon, Rhone, France

1990 M. Chapoutier Ermitage Le Pavillon, Rhone, France

Black colored, with an extraordinary perfume of licorice, sweet blackcurrants, smoke, and minerals, it coats the palate with layer upon layer of decadently rich, superconcentrated, nearly viscous Syrah flavors. There is amazing glycerin, a chewy, unctuous texture, and phenomenal length.

Value: $1,770.00

2003 M. Chapoutier Ermitage l'Ermite, Rhone, France

2003 M. Chapoutier Ermitage l'Ermite, Rhone, France

In terms of pure perfection and singularity, the black/purple-colored 2003 Ermitage l’Ermite is hauntingly perfect. A gorgeous perfume of flowers, black and blue fruits intermixed with a liqueur of rocks soars from the glass of this extraordinary wine. Full-bodied and multilayered, with magnificent concentration, and a stunning freshness and precision that are hard to believe given the frightfully low acidity, this is an extraordinary expression of terroir and vintage character that must be tasted to be believed.

Value: $1,430.00
