Second Harvest is proud to announce that our Programs and Partnerships Department is launching a new training and education program called ‘The Community Connect Program’. The objective of this program is to share resources, build on public training and education around food, and support existing networks within our communities. The Second Harvest Agency Connect Program has four pillars: Food Safety, Waste Reduction, Nutrition and Community Collaboration.
Second Harvest is determined to support our partner agencies through education-based opportunities. Some examples of training we currently offer include: Youth Empowerment Food Safety Training; Community Food Safety Training; Children & Youth Worker Food & Nutrition Training; Community Food Program Basic Training; and sessions on Reducing Food Waste and Understanding Food Labeling.
If you’re interested in connecting with local community agencies, or have questions about the Agency Connect Program, get in touch with us!
