Straticom is an award winning Canadian Interior Design firm offering innovative solutions for businesses across North America and serving a variety of clients including major corporations, institutions, government, non-profit and healthcare organizations.
In 2008 Straticom was introduced to Second Harvest when our team was in search of help to build and design our office space, and they have been supporters of our vision of “no waste, no hunger” ever since.
The team at Straticom is passionate about supporting Second Harvest and have taken part in various initiatives throughout the years, including our annual Turkey Drive and most recently our Hero Fundraising campaign. Starting with series of small internal events, including potluck lunches and silent auctions this small and energetic team raised $1,200 in 2011, but have continued to use their creativity along with their professional network to become one of Second Harvest’s top fundraisers, raising an incredible $37,000 in 2017.
Read below as they share in their own words, some background on the various ways in which they support our Second Harvest.
Straticom started fundraising for Second Harvest by participating in the 2008 Turkey Drive. For three years, we supported the turkey drive and raised approximately $500 each year. In 2011, we decided to deepen our commitment to the cause and try to raise more money. Still focusing within Straticom internally, we started a series of pot luck lunches and auctions and donated all proceeds to Second Harvest. That year we raised $1,200 – not bad considering the number of people involved and that it was all internal fundraising.
Looking to up the ante in 2012, our team decided to take part in the “Lunch Money Day” campaign (currently known as HERO), and the staff would bring a lunch and donate their lunch money to the cause. Never content to rest on our laurels and with the goal of raising more than we had in previous years – four Straticomers decided to take on organizing our first ever fundraising event which was hosted at our offices and attended primarily by industry suppliers. The event was planned in 3 weeks, had a Disco theme and raised almost $5,800!
In 2013, building on the success of our first fundraising event, we held another, this time with an 80’s theme and raised more than $11,000, providing food for over 22,000 meals for people in need. We also participated in our first ever TTC Hero Day where Straticom staff donated their time to collect donations at Spadina subway station.

We have already started planning our 2018 event and our goal is to raise over $38,000. Stay tuned for our theme!
