COVID-19 RESPONSE TO VOLUNTEERING AT SECOND HARVEST
Second Harvest is taking measures to ensure the health and safety of our employees, volunteers, guests and community partners. Due to COVID-19 and Public Health guidance about physical distancing, we are postponing all in person volunteer activity at this time.
Turkey Drive has become a holiday tradition for so many volunteers and supporters of Second Harvest. This year, we have taken Turkey Drive from an in-person volunteer opportunity and moved it online to keep our volunteers, donors and staff safe. Our goal is to raise 8,000 turkeys to meet the demand from community organizations who are experiencing additional challenges this year due to COVID-19.
Register yourself or gather your family, friends classmates and colleagues to create an online team and fundraise to reach your turkey goal, just like you would in store! Earn volunteer hours by signing up today. Visit our Holiday Turkey Drive Page for more details.

Represent Second Harvest at events around the GTA by working the information table or helping with other general tasks, including silent auctions, ticket sales and collecting donations. Volunteers should be approachable, outgoing and comfortable promoting Second Harvest and food rescue awareness. Training is provided.
Assist in sorting, packaging and loading surplus food at large events like trade shows and expos so it can be transported back to our warehouse for redistribution. Events occur throughout the year on an as-needed basis.
